Does it cost money to turn email into audio?

The free options, and what they cost you instead

If one message spoken once is all you need, use the free tools. Paying only makes sense when there is a recurring pile.
What InboxToAudio costs
Three plans, all including your private listening inbox and all 28 narration voices. Prices below are per month on annual billing, with the month-to-month price in brackets — annual works out to two months free.

What counts against your minutes
- Only audio you generate. A 20-minute newsletter spends 20 minutes of the month, once
- Re-listening is always free, however many times you play something
- Attachments count the same as message text — a long PDF simply produces more audio
- A failed item that you retry does not double-charge you for the successful render
Run out and everything already in your queue stays playable; new forwards wait for your next billing cycle, or you move up a plan.
Trying it without paying
You can forward one email of up to 2,000 words free, with no card, which is enough to hear a full-length newsletter or document narrated end to end in your own choice of voice.
After that, an active plan is needed to process new forwards. If a subscription lapses, audio you already made stays playable — voice selection and inbox regeneration are what get locked until you resubscribe.
Plans cancel any time and there is no contract. Cancelling stops future processing rather than deleting what you have already generated.
