How do I listen to work reports and documents?
Forward the email with the file attached to your private InboxToAudio address. PDF, DOC, and DOCX attachments up to 15 MB are prepared and narrated with chapters and a transcript, including scanned PDF pages. Check your employer’s rules on external forwarding first, and note that spreadsheets and slide decks cannot be narrated.

How to listen to a report
- 1
Check your employer allows external forwarding
Many organizations block or audit forwarding from work mail, and some documents should not leave internal systems at all. Confirm the policy before you send anything.
- 2
Forward the email, attachment included
Send it to your private listening address. PDF, DOC, and DOCX attachments up to 15 MB have their text extracted and narrated alongside the message body.
- 3
Let chapters do the structuring
Long reports are split automatically, so a board pack becomes a set of chapters you can move between rather than one continuous read.
- 4
Listen on the way, skim the transcript after
Hear the whole thing on the commute, then use the transcript to go back to the two paragraphs that mattered.
You can also paste text straight into your queue on the web, which suits content that is not in an email in the first place.
What narrates well at work
Good: prose documents
Board reports, strategy memos, incident write-ups, research papers, policies, contracts, and long email threads. Anything you would read start to finish.
Narration-ready documents
PDF, DOC, and DOCX files become narrated audio with chapters and a transcript, including scanned and photographed PDF pages.
Scanned documents included
PDF document understanding reads scanned pages and prepares their words for review and narration.
Mixed: numbers-heavy sections
Financial tables read aloud are noise. Listen for the narrative, then read the appendix on screen using the transcript.
Keeping work material contained
- Your listening address is private to your account and never published
- Turn on approved senders so only addresses you list can create audio — useful if the address is on a work forwarding rule
- Choose whether the audio-ready reply goes back to the sending address or to your personal account email
- Regenerate the address at any time; the old one stops working immediately
- Delete an episode and its audio and share link stop working
Share links are opt-in per episode, so nothing is reachable by a colleague unless you deliberately send them the link.
What it costs
Plans are a monthly minutes allowance rather than a per-document charge, and a long report uses more of the month than a memo. Re-listening to something already generated is free.
- Individual — $7.50/month billed annually ($9 monthly), 300 minutes
- Individual Plus — $13.33/month billed annually ($16 monthly), 700 minutes
- Individual Pro — $25/month billed annually ($30 monthly), 1,500 minutes plus two-speaker audio
